Ottermania Thank-you’s

Thank-you for your participation in Ottermania, as a swimmer, sponsor/donor and volunteer. The meet was a success in every way.

A small but dedicated number of Otters made this meet a reality, and to these we owe a debt of gratitude: Fernanda, our Meet Manager, took up the challenge to organize the meet, putting in countless hours towards its success; Michelle, our Co-Meet Manager, also wowed the audience with a spellbinding rendition of the Star Spangled Banner and O Canada (in both official languages!); Bob pounded the pavements to find our sponsors; Anna looked high and low for officials, and when she couldn’t fill the ranks she organized a clinic to train new officials; Dayna coordinated the volunteers; Richard got the word out across the Pacific Northwest, on both sides of the border; Liz prepared the certificates, among other documents; Cheryl kept us on budget; and Heidi set about organizing and preparing the food for all our volunteers.

There were so many other Otters, as well as their friends and family, who came out to help, filling all sorts of roles, and without those extra hands the Winskill Otters would not have been able to host a masters swim meet.

Of course I would be remiss if I didn’t mention our coaching team led by Judy, assisted by James and Rian. Judy keeps us focused but it is her enthusiasm which was the motivation for us to rise to the challenge of hosting Ottermania.

Thank-you one and all,

Pauline
President
